One of my saddest moments happened when I went to boarding school aged thirteen. It wasn’t down to feelings of abandonment or any old-fashioned fagging system. But I came face to face with the stark reality that normal people didn’t eat ice cream for breakfast….
I love ice cream.
It’s not a whimsical affair, not just a fad—it’s not like I enjoy a scoop of vanilla from time to time, but I’m full on infatuated with all colours and creed—sorbets, sundaes, syrups…the whole works.
So, imagine my excitement when I heard that Häagen-Dazs is looking for an official Taste Testing assistant.
You know that feeling when fate crops up, and your destined path in life suddenly becomes so clear. Everything I’ve done up until now has been building to this moment.
I was so excited, I couldn’t help but write job application in rhyming couplets, so please, please take just one second of your time to CLICK ON MY FACE (Rachel S) because I need as many votes for this glorious, wonderful dream to become a reality.
My ice cream poem
I work for a magazine and write a blog called ‘The Food I Eat’,
And I cook in a pop up restaurant you can find on Chapel Street.
I honed my expert palette working in the spirits industry
Where I learned how to taste whiskies and make a damned good G&T.
…but I’m looking for my big break, and Häagen-Dazs really floats my boat,
So please take a second to click on me because I’d really love your vote.
